LOVED it great friendly staff. The lake was wonderful and the view was also from out site. Things for the kids to do. My son has special needs and they was great working with him. Will definitely go again and others should also
They are the most awesome people with the biggest hearts. They helped not only out family, but many other families running from hurricane Irma, they fed us, kept us dry and warm, and didn't expect anything in return. They are truely some of the best people God will ever bless you to meet.
Nice, well-kept, updated campground with lovely views. It's popular and crowded, there's many long term campers here and the sites are close to each other in most areas. Not a lot of privacy in most areas. Some sites are on the water(lake) but most are off the water. More RV friendly, not many tent campers. There are only a few restrooms so you don't want to pick a site too far out if you rely on close proximity to the restrooms or else it's quite a walk, but I do like how the showers are separate from the restrooms, there's a male, female, and a unisex/family shower at each bathhouse that's separate and lockable. There are lots of workers/volunteers so help is easy to find and everyone I encountered was friendly. There are many rentable boat slips with power hookups and a boat ramp along with a beach area and picnic areas. They have a nice general store that sells fishing supplies as well as boat rentals. They rent land from TVA so this is a FEE area meaning you must pay a fee to visit the property, even if just visiting for the day to picnic. They have a coded gate system that stays closed at night for security. The prices are reasonable, a little more than the state park prices nearby but not much more. Overall, it's a nice, quiet place to stay, there are many amenities for a campground and I would return if given the chance.
This is a quiet campground in a beautiful setting. The staff treated us very well, and kept the place clean. It is alcohol free and very family friendly. There are a couple shower houses with hot water. Cabins, RVs, pontoon and fishing boats, as well as kayaks are all available to rent.
A hidden gem just outside Huntsville. This little campground includes a nice, large sandy beach on the shore of the lake. There is a barrier to prevent the kids from going too deep into the lake. We go a few times a year. The price is low, only $5, and it had never been crowded. As it is a campground, you may bring your own food and charcoal grills are available. There is also a small general store if you forgot something...or if the kids just need ice cream!
